Half Day Sightseeing - Uttarkashi:
Vishwanath Temple
This temple devoted to Lord Shiva is situated approx. 300 mts away from the
local market of Uttarkashi. It was renovated by Maharani Khaneti, wife of
Sudarshan Shah in 1857. The main attraction of this temple is the shivling,
which is around 60 cm high & 90 cm in circumference.

NIM Campus
Located 3 kms from the town is Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, one of the
leading National Institute responsible for imparting and inculcating the
spirit of adventure among the youth of the country. It is known for
conducting technical mountaineering and other adventure courses throughout
the year. Bachendri Pal, India’s first women Everester is a proud student of
NIM.
Himalayan Museum
Located within NIM Campus is Himalaya Museum ,the only museum of its kind in
the whole Garhwal. A wide display of Mountaineering equipment's, history of
various expeditions, photos of climbers, peaks etc. are beautifully
displayed there. Close to the Himalaya museum is the NIM souvenir shop from
where one can buy interesting items.

Day Trip
GANGOTRI: (One of the holy shrines of Char dham)
Located at 3050 mts and 95 kms from Uttarkashi, its one of the holy shrines
of Char Dham. This picturesque pilgrimage in the hinterlands of Himalayas,
has the temple of Lord Ganges, beautifully located on the banks of the river
Bhagirathi. Enroutre visit sulphur springs at Gagnani.

- Starting point for Trek to Gaumukh and Tapovan.
- Excellent view of peaks like Mt Myatri, Mt Sudershan, Mt Sri Kanth.
GAGNANI: (Famous for Hot Sulphur springs)
Approximately 39 kms from Uttarkashi is Gagnani (1855 Mt), a small village
known for hot sulphur springs, which have medicinal qualities. A small pool
is being constructed where people can take a hot bath and rejuvenate
themselves.
HARSIL: (A Village known for panoramic view & Apple orchids)
At an average elevation of 2600 Mt. Harsil is a village with panoramic
view, having Apples, Orchids & old temples. Situated amidst the incredible
mountain peaks, Harsil is counted amongst some of the most beautiful places
in the Garhwal region. It is also the base for short trek to Satrishi Tal.
Enroute have excellent mountain views from Dharali.
Attractions:
- Visit to Tibetan Monastery and the small Tibetan village.
- Short walking visit to Mukhba village to see the replica of Gangotri
Temple.
